I’m in one.
I keep picking up books and half-heartedly starting them and then loosing interest after a page or two. Yesterday I tweeted that I needed something lightweight and feelgoody to read and got a couple of ideas and today I visited the bookshop nearest work and came out with… nothing. I kept picking things up, reading the synopsis and thinking «no», «nope», «uh-uh» and so on. Mind you, most of the leads I got on twitter could have been good except the shop didn’t have the books, or they only had Norwegian translations of the English ones.
So, no dice.
The last time I was in a major funk I got out of it by rereading Harold Bloom’s The Western Canon. Perhaps I should look at the non-obvious this time, too, perhaps lightweight is NOT what I need?
I’ll get back to you.
