Back from Scotland

Barely… There was a bit of a problem with air traffic control in Norway this week, so our plane from London to Oslo was cancelled. We were then sent to Copenhagen and checked on to a plane that was supposed to leave at 22:40 – it finally left between one and two in the morning, and we were not in bed until half past three. Getting up was a bit of a struggle, I can tell you.

Anyway, Scotland was great, as usual. The Dufftown festival gets better every time, perhaps because every time it feels more like a reunion (there are a few regulars, you see…)

Pretty as a picture

A few pictures from the OSCDG workshop on Saturday (the one largely responsible for the stabbing pains in my shins…) Anhyhoo, it’s at least as much fun as it looks (apart from the stabbing pains, that is). Sorry about the lack of focus, people are moving (duh) and the light was not really adequate.

Terrific

I’ve got dodgy legs. Firstly, I’ve danced myself into an inflammation of the sheath around the shin bone – and it hurts like hell, but hopefully the visits to the physioterapist (every other day…) will eventually help. Today, though, in addition, I have a (for me) severe attack of rheumatism in the legs.

To help the inflammation I should sit still, to alleviate the rheumatism I should move. Tricky.

So my legs hurt… The hip-joints ache, the knee-joints ache and the ankle-joints ache and there are sudden stabbing pains around the shin bones (especially when I manage to put weight on the foot while turning, say round a corner – I need to walk in straight lines only… well, that’ll keep me on the straight and narrow, right?).

On the upside, we’re driving to Hitra tomorrow for a family reunion thingamagig for Martin’s maternal side. It should be entertaining, though the drive there and back is a bit tedious. I have great hopes that Martin’s mother’s freezer is well-stocked with fishcakes and such goodies that we can transfer to our own freezer. Five weeks without kitchen facilities (the kitchen, btw, is useable now, though still missing bits) has left me craving fishy things… We’ll also get to swing by my parents’ on Sunday (“on the way” home) and wish my mother a belated happy birthday.

Sure

I am 27% evil.

I try to stay away from evil deeds but succumb to temptation every once in a while. I’m not quite on my way to hell but I certainly have some explaining to do.

I am 7% Tool.

Yes! I am a smart person! I have a right to laugh at those losers that try to make themselves look cool because I know better. They are all just insecure pricks anyway.

Right

I know a little bit more… Being quite viley I managed to sneak a peek at a plan for the weekend (well, actually, someone had accidentally left a copy on the table in the room where I just had a meeting). It starts with “cycling to the cabin” which is estimated to last one and a half hours. Crikey. Anyway, the rest didn’t sound so bad. There was something about putting up a huge tent (presumably for the guys to sleep in) and a barbeque. And something about drinks. We like that.

I’ll just have to remember to bring a book.
