Retire to New York?

Well, I don’t suppose I’d ever want to retire to anywhere in the USA (if it’s not Norway, Scotland is the only other tempting option currently), but New York?

See, Melissa linked to this “best place for you to retire” quiz, and of course I couldn’t resist. And this is my top ten:

1. New York, NY
2. Jersey City, NJ
3. Wayne, NJ
4. Newark, NJ
5. Uniondale, NY
6. Hempstead, NY
7. Monsey, NY
8. Edison, NJ
9. Long Beach, CA
10. New City, NY

LA, incidentally, was in 11th place.

  1. Lemmegass… this quiz was written by a Chinese person, no? An Austrian, then. Or one of his (adopted) fellow countrymen.

  2. Bet you scored moderate on many things, please have cold winters, and plenty of culture around, too, huh? I won’t even bother to post my results. Me, too, would love to retire to Scotland, Northern England also possible, Norway has its perks, or maybe Florida – though by the time I retire, the main perk will have moved away, no doubt.

  3. Moderates mostly. Lots of culture. Lots of nightlife. Lowish summer temperatures and moderate winter. Lots of rain, a very little snow.
